The Mezzrow-Bechet Quintet paired clarinetist Mezz Mezzrow with soprano saxophonist Sidney Bechet, recording together for Mezzrow's King Jazz label in the mid-1940s. This Danish Storyville 7" draws from those sessions -- "Ole Miss" recorded August 1945, "Where Am I" from December 1947 -- reissued on the Copenhagen label that championed traditional jazz in Europe throughout the 1950s and 60s.
