The King Jazz Story is a 1963 Danish Storyville EP drawing from the King Jazz label sessions of 1945 and 1947, featuring clarinetists Mezz Mezzrow and Sidney Bechet leading septet and quintet groups. The four tracks span New York and Chicago recordings, including "The Sheik of Araby" and "Out of the Gallion," capturing the two reed players' New Orleans-rooted small-group swing at its most direct.
