The Platters were one of the defining vocal groups of the 1950s and early 60s, scoring major hits with "Only You," "The Great Pretender," and "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes." This 1988 Pickwick remastered CD compiles 20 tracks spanning their Mercury Records peak years. A solid budget-label collection covering their best-known material, including "Twilight Time" and "Unchained Melody."
