Kicks! collects the full Hollywood session from June 9, 1945, featuring Nat King Cole alongside trumpeter Charlie Shavers and drummer Buddy Rich under the Sunset All Stars banner. Released on Fontana in 1966 with Alan Bates producing the reissue, the album presents multiple takes of each title -- including four versions of "Black Market Stuff" -- offering a rare look at the working process of the session.
