"Smiling Faces Sometimes" was originally recorded by The Undisputed Truth in 1971, hitting the US top five before Norman Whitfield re-recorded it with The Temptations. This is the 1972 UK Tamla Motown single (TMG 832), backed with "Mother Nature". Whitfield produced both sides during his psychedelic soul phase with the group.
