Crucial Cuts is a 1983 Virgin UK compilation drawing from the Twinkle Brothers' run of roots recordings on their own Twinkle label through the late 1970s and early 1980s. Led by Norman Grant, the group built a loyal following with heavy, spiritual roots material. Tracks like Free Africa, Dread In The Ghetto, and Babylon Falling show the range across their catalogue -- cultural, devotional, and militant roots reggae.
