The Whispers released "And The Beat Goes On" on Solar Records in 1979, reaching the US R&B top ten. This 1987 UK MCA 12" compiles four Solar-era cuts across two eras -- the title track and "It's A Love Thing" from 1979-80, plus "Some Kinda Lover" and "Contagious" from 1984. The title track became a widely sampled boogie standard. Pressed in England under MCA licence.
