US original 7" from The Whispers' 1981 Solar LP of the same name, co-produced by Dick Griffey and the group. "It's A Love Thing" reached the top 5 on the Billboard R&B chart and crossed over to pop, with Gene Dozier handling string arrangements. Silver label pressing, mastered at Capitol. Flip side "Girl I Need You" adds four minutes of smooth Solar-era soul.
