Tippa Irie's 1985 UK Bubblers 12" pairs "The Telephone" -- a reggae-pop cut with an electro edge -- with "Sleng Teng Finish Already", a direct response to Wayne Smith and King Jammy's landmark digital riddim from the same year. Produced by Chris Cracknell, this original UK pressing captures Tippa at his commercial peak, shortly before his 1986 hit "Hello Darling" broke him to a wider audience.
