Too Poetic was a New York rapper active in the late 80s hip-house wave. This 1989 Tommy Boy 12" pairs two tracks across six mixes -- "Poetical Terror" and "God Made Me Funky" -- produced by Poetic Productions with James Tinsley. "God Made Me Funky" lifts its hook from Funkadelic, blending house rhythms with rapid-fire rap. A solid snapshot of hip-house from the Tommy Boy roster.
