Funky Kingston was first released in 1973 on Dragon Records, later reissued on Island/Mango. This CD reissue collects the Island version, produced by Chris Blackwell, recorded at Dynamic Sounds, Kingston and Island Studios, London. Covers include Richard Berry's "Louie Louie" and "Daddy's Home." The title track and "Redemption Song" are Toots Hibbert originals -- not the Bob Marley song.
