BGP's 1999 compilation draws from the pre-Acid Jazz label era -- the late 1960s and early 1970s soul-jazz and jazz-funk that directly inspired the London scene. Transferred from original analogue master tapes, it pulls cuts from that fertile organ-and-horns period, including Isaac Hayes' "Theme From Shaft" and Gene Ammons' "Jungle Strut," the latter heavily sampled in hip-hop.
