The Copulatin' Blues a notorious compilation of risque prewar blues recordings.
A 1987 US compilation on Jass Records collecting double-entendre blues recordings from the 1920s--40s. Tracks span Delta, Chicago, and piano blues, with artists including Tampa Red, Lucille Bogan ("Shave 'Em Dry"), and Jelly Roll Morton ("Winin' Boy"). The humour is period-authentic -- coded language that was never really coded. Strong cross-section of styles across 22 tracks.
