African Roots Act V is the fifth instalment in Lloyd "Bullwackie" Barnes's African Roots series, released on his own Wackie's label in 1985. Recorded in the Bronx, the series drew on Afrocentric themes across roots and dub. This volume features ten tracks blending heavy roots rhythms with studio dub, including Koramantyn Chant and Captain Cudjoe -- both referencing Jamaican Maroon history.
