Washboard Sam (Robert Brown) was a Chicago blues staple through the late 1930s and 40s, recording prolifically for Bluebird with Big Bill Broonzy on guitar. This 1991 Wolf Records Austria compilation spans 21 tracks across an 11-year period, covering sessions from Chicago and Aurora, Illinois. Broonzy appears on several cuts, including "I'm A Prowlin' Groundhog" from the earliest 1936 session.
