Welton Irie was a Jamaican deejay who rose through the dancehall scene in the early 1980s. Army Life is a 1982 original Jamaican pressing on Hit Bound, a Kingston 13 imprint operating out of Maxfield Avenue. The A-side features Irie toasting over a roots-leaning riddim, with the instrumental version on the flip.
