Gene Chandler, the Chicago soul veteran behind "Duke Of Earl," released this 12" on the UK Bluebird label in 1984, arranged and produced alongside Sonny Sanders. The A-side rides a polished mid-tempo groove written by Lowrell Simon and Jimmy Levine. The B-side "Time Is A Thief" rounds out a strong two-sider from a singer still very much in his element during the disco-soul era.
