The Time's 1981 debut on Warner Bros. (BSK 3598) introduced Morris Day and his Minneapolis crew to a wider audience. Produced under Prince's alias Jamie Starr, the album laid out the blueprint for the band's sharp funk sound -- "Get It Up" and "Cool" became instant cornerstones of the Minneapolis sound alongside their mentor's own releases.
