Gene Krupa's Spotlite is a four-track 45 RPM EP issued by Columbia in 1952, collecting highlights from the drummer's postwar big band recordings. "Disc Jockey Jump" and "Lemon Drop" showcase the bebop-leaning direction Krupa pursued after reforming his orchestra in the late 1940s, while "Dark Eyes" and "Gene's Boogie" pull back toward swing and boogie territory.
