Soul Station, recorded in a single session at Van Gelder Studio on 7 February 1960, is widely considered Hank Mobley's definitive quartet recording. This 1999 Blue Note remaster -- catalogue 7243 4 95343 2 2 -- transfers the original BLP 4031 tapes at 24-bit resolution. Produced by Alfred Lion, the session features Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, and Art Blakey. The nine-minute title track is the centrepiece.
