Meade "Lux" Lewis was a Chicago-born pianist central to the boogie woogie revival of the late 1930s and 40s. This 1959 UK Melodisc EP collects four tracks including "Yancey's Pride," a tribute to fellow boogie woogie pioneer Jimmy Yancey. A compact snapshot of Lewis's rolling left-hand style, pressed on 45 for the British market at a time when his reputation was well established on both sides of the Atlantic.
