Captain Rock's "Cosmic Blast" was released in 1984 on NIA Records, produced by the Aleem twins -- Taharqa and Tunde Ra Aleem, who were active across funk, R&B, and early hip-hop. A New York electro cut built around Roland drum machine programming and synthesizer bass, it was later sampled in early hip-hop and club tracks.
