Charles "Luckey" Roberts was a Harlem stride piano giant whose recordings from the 1940s--50s remain central to the style's history. This 1994 Solo Art compilation draws from Circle Records sessions, pairing Roberts with stride revivalist Ralph Sutton. Highlights include Roberts originals "African Ripples" and "Ripples Of The Nile," plus stride and ragtime readings of "St. Louis Blues" and "Drop Me Off In Harlem." Produced by Barry Martyn.
