Coleman Hawkins recorded Today And Now (1963) and Desafinado (1963) for Impulse! during his late-career engagement with bossa nova. Both albums feature producer Bob Thiele and catch Hawkins applying his tenor saxophone to the Brazilian wave then sweeping New York jazz. This 2011 European Impulse! remaster compiles both LPs across 15 tracks, remastered at Eastside Mastering Studios, Berlin.
