Direct Drive were a UK jazz-dance act whose 1985 12" on Polydor's Boiling Point imprint caught two notable remixers at peak form. The B-side pairs a Paul Hardcastle remix with one by Mark King of Level 42, both leaning into the synth-funk direction each was pursuing at the time. Horns arranged by Bill Ball give the A-side its jazzy edge.
