Elmore James was a Mississippi-born slide guitarist whose recordings from the late 1940s through early 1960s defined electric Delta blues. This 1997 Camden compilation collects 22 tracks including his signature "The Sky Is Crying", "Dust My Broom", and "One Way Out" -- all widely covered by artists from Fleetwood Mac to the Allman Brothers. Camden is a budget imprint of BMG, distinct from the 1993 Rhino anthology of the same name.
