Freddie Redd was a New York hard bop pianist active from the early 1950s, best known for scoring the 1959 off-Broadway production *The Connection*. This 2013 Real Gone remastered 4xCD set compiles six full albums from his Prestige, Blue Note, and Jazzland output, spanning 1955--1961 and featuring sidemen including Art Farmer and Jackie McLean.
