Furry Lewis recorded these sides for Vocalion between 1927 and 1929, capturing the Memphis bluesman at his earliest and most raw. This 2010 Italian compilation on Monk collects 26 tracks across two LPs, including both takes of the title track and the two-part "Kassie Jones." The writer credit listing "(Lewis, Winter)" on "Everybody's Blues" appears to be an error on the release.
