Harold Land was a San Diego-born tenor saxophonist central to the West Coast hard bop scene of the late 1950s and 1960s. This 2013 Real Gone four-disc HDCD compilation collects six of his albums -- including *The Fox* and *Eastward Ho!* -- in remastered form with bonus tracks. Land recorded alongside Wes Montgomery, Elmo Hope, and Dupree Bolton across sessions that remain benchmarks of California hard bop.
