US Original 1955. Media in Excellent condition with deep gloss. Two light surface marks do not affect play. With booklet and still in shrink. Remarkable for its age.

Field recordings of Alabama country blues singer Horace Sprott, captured in Perry County and Marion, Alabama in April 1954 by a Guggenheim-funded expedition. Released on Folkways in 1955 as FA 2651, the second volume in the Music From The South series. Sprott's unaccompanied vocals and work songs -- including "Smoked Like Lightning" and "Early One Morning" -- sit alongside interview segments.
