Midnight Blue is Kenny Burrell's 1963 Blue Note session, produced by Alfred Lion and recorded January 7 that year. This CD reissue -- catalogue CDP 7 46399 2, pressed in Holland and produced for release by Michael Cuscuna -- adds two tracks not on the original LP: Kenny's Sound and K Twist. The set blends blues and soul-jazz, with Chitlins Con Carne among the most-covered tracks in the catalogue.
