Sonic Boom compiles two Lee Morgan sessions recorded at Van Gelder Studio in 1967 and 1969, originally issued separately on Blue Note. Produced by Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff, with Michael Cuscuna overseeing this 2003 reissue. The set spans hard bop originals alongside a reading of "Stormy Weather," capturing Morgan's working bands from his late Blue Note period.
