Leroy Smart's "Hotter The Battle" is a 1985 single produced and arranged by Prince Jammy, released on his own Jammy's Records out of Jamaica. Jammy was transitioning toward the digital dancehall sound that would define the late 1980s, and Smart -- a veteran deejay known for his smooth vocal style -- delivers a strong performance over the riddim, with the dub version on the flip.
