Mance Lipscomb -- Texas songster, guitarist, and sharecropper -- recorded Trouble In Mind in Houston in 1961 with folklorist Mack McCormick. Originally issued as Reprise R-2012, this is the 1970 white label promo reissue (RS 6404). The set draws on traditional blues and folk: "Careless Love", "Motherless Children", and the title track are standout performances from one of Texas blues' most distinctive fingerpickers.
