Bass On Top is a 1957 Blue Note session led by bassist Paul Chambers, recorded 14 July 1957 with Kenny Burrell, Hank Jones, and Art Taylor. This is the 1978 Japanese pressing (GXK 8053), part of the Blue Note Immortal Masterpiece Series. The set spotlights Chambers as leader across six standards and bop lines, including Charlie Parker's "Chasin' The Bird" and the Miles Davis staple "Dear Old Stockholm".
