Ramsey Lewis recorded this live set at Basin Street West, San Francisco, released on Chess in 1967. This is the original UK pressing on Chess (CRLS.4533). The album opens with a soul-jazz take on the Marvin Gaye and Mary Wells hit "Dancing In The Street" and includes bossa nova readings of "Black Orpheus" and Jobim's "Corcovado," alongside John Lewis's jazz standard "Django."
