Sounds Of Blackness were a Minneapolis gospel and R&B ensemble produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, releasing their debut album *The Evolution of Gospel* in 1991 on Perspective Records. This UK 12" pulls remixes from that album, reworking "Optimistic" and "Testify" into house and garage house edits. The "Never Say Die Mix" stretches "Optimistic" to over seven minutes alongside two dub versions of "Testify."
