The Ad Libs were a New Jersey vocal group best known for "The Boy from New York City" (1965). This is an original US pressing on Blue Cat, the Red Bird subsidiary run by Leiber and Stoller, with production by Jeff Barry and arrangements by Artie Butler. "He Ain't No Angel" is the stronger side -- punchy uptown soul with the group's signature close harmonies intact.
