The EmCee Five were a British hard bop group active in the early 1960s. Let's Take Five! is a 1962 EP on Columbia (SEG 8153), released in mono and reviewed in The Gramophone in June of that year. Three tracks across two sides -- including Stephenson's Rocket and the multi-part Preludes -- place the group firmly in the post-bop idiom that defined progressive British jazz of the period.
